How to play Bewixt and Between
GAME START: Tutorial
> Start by navigating the INTRODUCTION story at the Front page on the top header; if you haven't already. This includes the basics of what you need to know for the group. Your character will receive a different intro as part of their application process. Perhaps it was familiar to them, perhaps it wasn't. Everyone gets the same message and knowledge coming in, but the range of understanding IC is up to the player.
> After you've gotten that out of the way, make sure you understand the terms and simple language of the group setting by checking the pages on the MAIN MENU screen.
> Join the Discord Channel, as all goings ons will be done in there; including applications, gallery submission, and general day to day.
> Done? Cool. You're ready for level one.
LEVEL ONE: Joining the Group
> Now that you've gotten a basic gist of what the group is, and want to play, you need to join the group of course!
> Your Application Format is HERE.
> A completed app should include a Description/Visual of your character created by your or for your use, a completed biography, a properly filled out stat sheet, and generally the rest of the app completed.
> Follow the directions in the Discord chat regarding application submission and the introduction to The World Between, there is an RP with the bot you should have completed in one of the introduction channels.
> Your App will be reviewed and lightly judged based on your interactions with others in the server, your introduction adventure, and your application itself. Once all have been found complete and well, you will be given a GREY tag and able to join in the rest of the discord.
LEVEL Two: Participating
> This is not a standard linear story group. That being said, there is a story you can uncover; but at your own pace. The storyline of this world is already written, and integrated. You can choose when you'd like to start it, or never. Much like an MMO RPG mixed with a text adventure, rather than standard RP groups.
> If you'd like to start the story, notify a mod in the Discord chat. A room will sanctioned off to you and you'll be given your ACCESS KEY. From there on, the mods will assist you if asked, but have no direct involvement. The main character of this story is yours.
> Occasionally, generally once a month, a group "event" will be released. A key will be given to the public and the interested parties can uncover the mystery to find the COLOR to be dispatched. Some may be actual RP events and "fresh" generated content by fellow members, moderators, or contributors of the group.
> Once revealed and defeated, the Color's fate becomes a public decision. Anyone and everyone can choose what happens to it, and there is no canonical ending; this is merely your character's choice to generate Black or White Shards.
> To send in a response to the Color and get your shards, simply follow the instructions in the Discord chat and they will be added to your Bank.
> Inactivity of this group is not punished upon the player; but it does effect the characters themselves. Staying too long in The World Between without gathering shards to stabilize them will cause them to turn into a Color. You will be warned multiple times before this happens; and reviving a lost character is possible. This group does not favor long term punishments. (Communicate with Admin for scheduled long term leaves of absence, or assign yourself the "Hiatus" tag with the bot.).
> In this event, you may become one of the Colors other members have to face.
LEVEL Three: Advancing
> So now you've got some shards... now what?
> Using your shards you can decide the fate of your character in time. Keeping in mind the ADVANCEMENT of your character, utilize the SHOPS to determine their fate Do they become white or black? Do they stay and become a Semi Color? Do they become a Color?
> As in Levels One, Two and Three- this is done at your own pace.
> Not getting enough Shards? Worry not, all additions to this group (writing or visual works) will count to generate you shards of your choice. There will be prompts and concepts for you to play with and enjoy, as well as your own personal developments.
LEVEL Four: Game Over
> When the time comes, all things must end, and your character's story concludes.
> When this happens, you have already decided what will become of them; thus you know when the end happens. There are various endings, all entirely up to you and your character's choices.
> If you are short the required Shards to secure a new character to replay the game or continue, please contact the mod staff and we will do our best to assist you.
> Every Gamer knows that there's always the chance of a New Game +, maybe you can bring someone new into the fold and show them the way?
